Musnad Ahmad 26:154

Waki’ narrated to us, Isra’il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, from ‘Abdullah: That some people came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "A companion of ours is suffering; shall we cauterize him?" He said: So he remained silent. Then they said: "Shall we cauterize him?" He remained silent. Then he said: "Cauterize him and press him with a heated stone."
