Musnad ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (RA)
Hadith 26:217
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, al-Mas'udi narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn 'Amr ibn Ja'dah, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from 'Abdullah, that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asking him about the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr). The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Which of you remembers the night of the reddish-white moon (al-Sahba'awat)?" 'Abdullah said: "I, by Allah, remember it, O Messenger of Allah—may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. I had dates in my hand that I was eating for my pre-dawn meal (suhur), while I was hidden behind the back of my saddle from the dawn, and that was when the moon rose."
