Musnad Ahmad 26:232

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Sufyan ibn Said al-Thawri narrated to us, from Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja’d, from his father, from Ibn Mas’ud, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "There is not one among you except that he has with him his companion from the angels and from the jinn." They said: "Even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "And me, except that Allah helped me against him, so he submitted, and he does not command me except with good."
