Musnad Ahmad 26:237

Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah informed us, from ‘Asim ibn Bahdalah, from Abu Wa’il, from ‘Abdullah: "A man had never done any good deed at all, except for monotheism (Tawhid). When death approached him, he said to his family: 'When I die, take me and burn me until you leave me as charcoal, then grind me, then scatter me into the sea on a windy day.' He said: So they did that to him. He said: Then he was in the grasp of Allah. He said: So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said to him: 'What compelled you to do what you did?' He said: 'Fear of You.' He said: So Allah forgave him."
