'Arim narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muslim al-Qasamli narrated to us, Sulayman al-A'mash narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from Yahya ibn Ja'dah, from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He will not enter the Fire who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of faith, and he will not enter Paradise who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride." A man said: O Messenger of Allah, I like for my garment to be clean, my hair to be oiled, and the strap of my sandal to be new—and he mentioned things, until he mentioned the thong of his whip—is that pride, O Messenger of Allah? He said: "No, that is beauty. Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. But pride is the rejection of truth and the belittling of people." *** 3790 - Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Zakariyya narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Uthman ibn Khuthaym, from al-Qasim ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from 'Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There will be men in charge of your affairs after me who will extinguish the Sunnah, introduce innovation, and delay the prayer from its appointed times." Ibn Mas'ud said: O Messenger of Allah, what should I do if I encounter them? He said: "There is no obedience to one who disobeys Allah, O son of Umm 'Abd." He said it three times. ['Abdullah ibn Ahmad said]: And I heard the like from Muhammad ibn al-Sabah.
