Musnad Ahmad 26:253

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja'd, from his father, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is not one among you except that his companion from the jinn and his companion from the angels have been assigned to him." They said: "And you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "And me, but Allah helped me against him, so he submitted, and he does not command me except with good."
