'Affan ibn Muslim narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, al-Walid ibn al-'Aizar ibn Hurayth informed me, he said: I heard Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani, he said: The owner of this house narrated to us—and he pointed to the house of 'Abdullah—without naming him, he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "Which deed is most beloved to Allah?" He said: "The prayer at its time." I said: "Then what?" He said: "Then honoring the parents." I said: "Then what?" He said: "Then striving (Jihad) in the way of Allah." He said: He narrated them to me, and had I asked him for more, he would have added for me.
