Musnad Ahmad 26:346

'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Abu Ishaq informed us, from Abu al-Ahwas, who said: 'Abdullah used to say: "Lying is not appropriate, whether in seriousness or in jest." And 'Affan said once: "In seriousness—and a man should not promise a child something, then not fulfill it for him." He said: "And Muhammad (ﷺ) said to us: 'A man continues to tell the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful one (Siddiq), and a man continues to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a liar (Kadhdhab).'"
