Musnad Ahmad 26:357

'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn Maysarah informed me, he said: I heard an-Nazzal ibn Sabrah, he said: I heard 'Abdullah say: I heard a man recite a verse in a way other than how the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) had recited it to me. So I took him by the hand until I went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He said: "Both of you are doing well, so do not differ—to the best of my knowledge, or perhaps it was Mis'ar who narrated it to me—for those who were before you differed regarding it, and they perished."
