Musnad Ahmad 26:366

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Suhayl ibn Abi Salih and 'Abdullah ibn 'Uthman ibn Khuthaym informed us, from 'Awn ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Utbah ibn Mas'ud, from Ibn Mas'ud, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever says: 'O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, I make a covenant with You in this worldly life that I bear witness that there is no god but You, You alone with no partner, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Your messenger. For if You entrust me to myself, You bring me closer to evil and distance me from good, and I do not trust in anything except Your mercy. So grant me a covenant with You that You will fulfill for me on the Day of Resurrection, for You do not break the promise'— Allah will say to His angels on the Day of Resurrection: 'My servant has made a covenant with Me, so fulfill it for him,' and Allah will cause him to enter Paradise." Suhayl said: I informed Al-Qasim ibn 'Abd al-Rahman that 'Awn had reported such and such, and he said: "There is no young woman among our family but that she says this in her private quarters."
