Musnad ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (RA)

Hadith 26:386

Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Abu 'Umays narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Ali ibn al-Aqmar mentioning from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abdullah, that he said: "Whoever is pleased to meet Allah tomorrow as a Muslim, let him maintain these prayers where they are called out. For Allah has legislated for your Prophet the paths of guidance, and they are among the paths of guidance. If you were to pray in your houses, as this one who stays behind prays in his house, you would have abandoned the path of your Prophet. And if you were to abandon the path of your Prophet, you would go astray. There is no man who performs ablution, and performs the ablution well, then heads to one of these mosques, except that Allah writes for him a good deed for every step he takes, raises him a degree by it, and removes a bad deed from him by it. And if you had seen us, none would stay behind from them except a hypocrite known for his hypocrisy. Indeed, a man would be brought, being supported between two men, until he was stood in the row."
