Musnad Ahmad 26:40

Abdullah ibn Idris narrated to us, he said: I heard al-A’mash narrating from Shaqiq, he said: Abdullah [ibn Mas’ud] used to come out to us and say: "I am indeed informed of your location, and nothing prevents me from coming out to you except the dislike of making you bored. For the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to monitor us with exhortation during the days, out of dislike for weariness upon us."
