Musnad Ahmad 26:428

Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Yahya al-Jabir, from Abu al-Majid al-Hanafi, from Abdullah, who said: We asked our Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, about walking with the funeral procession. He said: "The walking should be slower than a trot. If it (the deceased) is good, you are hastening it toward good; and if it is otherwise, then away with the people of the Fire. The funeral procession is to be followed, and he is not of us who precedes it."
