'Abd al-Samad and Rawh narrated to us, they said: Dawud ibn Abi al-Furat narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Abu al-A'yan al-'Abdi, from Abu al-Ahwas al-Jushami, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: We asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about the monkeys and the swine: Are they from the offspring of the Jews? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Verily, Allah the Almighty and Majestic has never cursed a people—Rawh said: 'and transformed them'—such that they would have offspring, until He destroys them. But this is a creation that existed; so when Allah the Almighty and Majestic became angry with the Jews, He transformed them and made them like them."
