'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muslim narrated to us, Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani narrated to us, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are most beloved to Allah, the Almighty and Majestic?" He said: "Perform the prayer at its appointed times." I said: "Then what?" He said: "Kindness to parents." I said: "Then what?" He said: "Then striving (Jihad) in the way of Allah." And had I asked him for more, he would have given me more.
