Hadith 26:483
Ibn Numayr and Ya‘la narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Ibrahim, from ‘Alqama, who said: ‘Abdullah came to al-Sham, and some people from the people of Homs said to him: "Recite to us." So he recited to them Surah Yusuf. A man from the people stood up and said: "By Allah, it was not revealed like this." ‘Abdullah said: "Woe to you! I recited it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) just like this, and he said: 'You have done well.'" While he was debating with him, he smelled the odor of wine on him. He said: "Do you drink the abomination and deny the Quran? By Allah, you shall not leave me until I flog you." And he administered the prescribed punishment (hadd) upon him.
حدثنا ابن نمير، ويعلى ، عن الأعمش، عن إبراهيم، عن علقمة، قال: أتى عبد الله، الشام، فقال له ناس من أهل حمص: اقرأ علينا. فقرأ عليهم سورة يوسف، فقام رجل من القوم: والله ما هكذا أنزلت فقال عبد الله: ويحك لقد قرأتها على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هكذا، فقال: " أحسنت "، فبينا هو يراجعه، إذ وجد منه ريح الخمر، فقال: أتشرب الرجس، وتكذب بالقرآن ؟ والله لا تزاولني حتى أجلدك. فجلده الحد
