Musnad Ahmad 26:491

Abu Mu'awiyah and Ibn Numayr narrated to us, they said: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Shaqiq, who said: We were sitting at the door of Abdullah, waiting for him to give us permission [to enter]. He said: Then Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah al-Nakha'i came and entered upon him. We said to him: "Inform him of our presence." So he entered and informed him. He did not delay in coming out to us, and he said: "I am aware of your presence, but I leave you intentionally, fearing that I might bore you. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to alternate the days for us in admonition, fearing that we might become weary."
