Yahya narrated to us, from al-A’mash, ‘Umarah narrated to me, al-Aswad ibn Yazid narrated to me, he said: ‘Abdullah said. And Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from ‘Umarah. And Ibn Ja’far narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, from Sulayman, he said: I heard ‘Umarah, from al-Aswad, from ‘Abdullah—the meaning [is the same]—he said: Let no one among you assign a portion of himself to Satan, thinking that it is absolutely incumbent upon him to turn away from his right side. For I have indeed seen the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, turn away from his left side most of the time.
