Musnad Ahmad 26:607

Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, Shu’bah narrated to us, and ‘Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Isra’il informed us, from Simak ibn Harb, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas’ud, from his father, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said—‘Abd al-Razzaq said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying—: "May Allah make radiant a man who heard a hadith from us, then memorized it until he conveys it; for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed is more retentive of it than the one who heard it."
