Musnad Ahmad 26:629

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, Rukayn narrated to me, he said: I heard al-Qasim ibn Hassan narrating from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmalah, from ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud: "That the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to dislike ten things: yellow dye (saffron), changing gray hair, trailing the lower garment, a gold ring—or he said: a gold band—playing with dice, displaying adornment in a place other than its proper place, incantations except with the protective surahs (al-Mu‘awwidhatayn), amulets, withdrawing the water (coitus interruptus), and corrupting a child without making it unlawful."
