Musnad Ahmad 26:656

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Sulayman and Mansur, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq, from ‘Abdullah, that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw that the Quraysh had defied him, he said: "O Allah, help me against them with seven like the seven of Yusuf." He said: "So the drought seized them, until it consumed everything, to the point that they ate hides and bones." And one of them said: "Until they ate hides and carrion, and there began to emerge from the man something like the appearance of smoke." Then Abu Sufyan came to him and said: "O Muhammad, your people have perished, so call upon Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to remove it from them." He said: "So he prayed." Then he said: "O Allah, if they return, then return [to the punishment]"—this is in the hadith of Mansur—then he recited this verse: {So watch for the day when the sky will bring a visible smoke} [Ad-Dukhan: 10].
