Musnad Ahmad 26:707

I read to my father: ‘Amr ibn Mujamma‘ narrated to you, Ibrahim al-Hajari informed us, from Abu al-Ahwas, from ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: "When the servant of one of you brings his food, let him bring him near, and let him seat him with him, or let him feed him a morsel; for he is the one who took charge of its heat and its smoke."
