Musnad ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (RA)
Hadith 26:740
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Simak, that he heard Ibrahim narrating from 'Alqamah and al-Aswad, from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Prophet of Allah, I found a woman in an orchard, and I did everything with her except that I did not have intercourse with her. I kissed her and embraced her, and I did not do anything other than that. So do with me what you wish." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not say anything to him. The man went away. 'Umar said: "Allah had covered him, if only he had covered himself." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, followed him with his gaze and said: "Bring him back to me." So they brought him back to him. He recited to him: {And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds} [Hud: 114], up to: {the rememberers} [al-Ahzab: 35]. Mu'adh ibn Jabal said: "Is this for him alone, or for all the people, O Prophet of Allah?" He replied: "Rather, it is for all the people."
