Musnad Ahmad 26:776

Abu Qatan narrated to us, al-Mas'udi informed us, from Sa'id ibn 'Amr, from Abu 'Ubaydah, from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "When is the Night of Decree?" He said: "Who among you remembers the night of the *Sahbawat*?" 'Abdullah said: "I do, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. And in my hand were some dates with which I was eating my pre-dawn meal, concealing myself from the dawn by the back of my saddle, and that was when the little moon rose."
