Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, 'Asim—meaning Ibn Muhammad ibn Zayd ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar—narrated to us, from 'Amir ibn al-Simt, from Mu'awiyah ibn Ishaq, from 'Ata' ibn Yasar, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "There will be leaders after me who will say what they do not do, and they will do what they are not commanded to do."
