Musnad Ahmad 1:16

Hashim narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Khumayr informed me, he said: I heard Sulaym ibn 'Amir—a man from Himyar—narrating from Awsat ibn Isma'il ibn Awsat al-Bajali, narrating from Abu Bakr: That he heard him when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away, he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood in this place of mine last year"—then he wept—then he said: "You must be truthful, for it is with righteousness, and both of them are in Paradise. And beware of lying, for it is with wickedness, and both of them are in the Fire. And ask Allah for *al-mu'afah* (well-being/immunity from trials), for no man has been given anything better after certainty than *al-mu'afah*." Then he said: "Do not cut ties with one another, do not turn your backs on one another, do not hate one another, do not envy one another, and be, O servants of Allah, brothers."
