Musnad Ahmad 1:23

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Salih, who said: Ibn Shihab said: A man from the Ansar, who was not accused [of falsehood], informed me that he heard Uthman ibn Affan narrating: That men from the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, passed away, grieved for him, until some of them almost became delirious (or suffered from waswas). Uthman said: So I was among them... then he mentioned the meaning of the hadith of Abu al-Yaman from Shu'ayb.
