Musnad Ahmad 1:33

Rawh narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Khumayr, he said: I heard Sulaym ibn 'Amir—a man from the people of Homs, and he had met the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace—and he said once: He said: I heard Awsat al-Bajali, from Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, he said: I heard him addressing the people—and he said once: When he was made caliph—so he said: "Indeed, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stood in this position of mine last year"—and Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, wept—then he said: "I ask God for pardon and well-being, for the people have not been given anything better than well-being after certainty. And you must be truthful, for it is in Paradise, and beware of lying, for it is with wickedness, and both of them are in the Fire. Do not cut ties with one another, do not hate one another, do not envy one another, and do not turn your backs on one another. And be brothers, as God, the Almighty and Majestic, has commanded you."
