Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, saying: ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Muhammad and Sa’id ibn Salamah ibn Abi al-Husam narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Abi ‘Amr, from Abu al-Huwayrith, from Muhammad ibn Jubayr ibn Mut’im: That ‘Uthman said: I wished that I had asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): What saves us from what the Shaytan casts into our souls? Abu Bakr said: I have already asked him about that, and he said: "What saves you from that is for you to say what I commanded my uncle to say, but he did not say it."
