Musnad Ahmad 1:6

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi and Abu 'Amir narrated to us, they said: Zuhayr—meaning Ibn Muhammad—narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah—meaning Ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil—, from Mu'adh ibn Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' al-Ansari, from his father, Rifa'ah ibn Rafi', who said: I heard Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, saying upon the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying—then Abu Bakr wept when he mentioned the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, then he recovered, then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying during this heat of the first year: "Ask Allah for pardon, well-being, and certainty in the Hereafter and the first life."
