Musnad Ahmad 30:1039

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Adam and Moses debated. Moses said to him: 'Are you Adam, who misled the people and brought them out of Paradise to the earth?' Adam said to him: 'Are you Moses, whom Allah gave the knowledge of everything and chose over the people with His message?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Do you blame me for a matter that was written for me to do before I was created?'" He said: "So Adam defeated Moses in the argument."
