Musnad Ahmad 30:1077

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If the maker [of the food] brings your food to you, having spared you the trouble of its heat and its smoke, then invite him to eat with you. If he does not, then place it in his hand."
