Musnad Ahmad 30:1082

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "A woman entered the Fire because of a cat of hers—or a tomcat—which she tied up. She neither fed it, nor did she release it to forage from the vermin of the earth, until it died of emaciation."
