Musnad Ahmad 30:1267

Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Ishaq bin Sa'id narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, that he used to say: "How will you be when you do not acquire a dinar or a dirham?" It was said to him: "Do you see that happening, O Abu Hurairah?" He said: "Yes, by the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurairah, based on the word of the Truthful, the Believed." They said: "And why is that?" He said: "The covenant of Allah and the covenant of His Messenger will be violated, so Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will harden the hearts of the people of the covenant (dhimmis), and they will withhold what is in their hands." "By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu Hurairah, it will surely happen twice."
