Musnad Ahmad 30:1378

'Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "A man from the Muslims passed by a thorny branch on the road and said: 'I will surely remove this thorn from the road so that it does not injure a Muslim man.'" He said: "So he was forgiven."
