Musnad Ahmad 30:1380

Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "When Allah loves a servant, He calls Jibril and says: 'I have loved so-and-so, so love him.' He said: So Jibril loves him. He said: Then he calls out in the heavens: 'Allah has loved so-and-so, so love him.' He said: So they love him. He said: Then Allah places acceptance for him on the earth. And if He hates [a servant], it is the like of that."
