Musnad Ahmad 30:1425

'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us, Abu al-Jallas 'Uqbah ibn Yasar narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Shammas narrated to me, he said: I witnessed Marwan asking Abu Hurayrah, "How did you hear the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, pray over the funeral?" He said: "With what I said?" He said: "Yes." He said: "O Allah, You are its Lord, and You created it, and You guided it to Islam, and You took its soul, and You are most knowing of its secret and its public. We have come as intercessors, so forgive it."
