Musnad Ahmad 30:1487

Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu Yunus narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that he said: "Every soul has charity written upon it every day the sun rises. Among that is that one acts justly between two people, which is charity. And that a man helps another with his mount, lifting him onto it or lifting his luggage onto it, is charity. And removing harmful objects from the road is charity, and the good word is charity, and every step one takes toward the prayer is charity."
