Hassan narrated to us, Shaiban narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Abu Hurairah, who said: "Our food with the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was only the two black things: dates and water. By Allah, we did not see this wheat of yours, and we do not know what it is. And our clothing with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was only the *namir*," meaning the cloaks of the Bedouins.
