Musnad Ahmad 30:1582

Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr narrated to us, Zuhayr—meaning Ibn Muhammad—narrated to us, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that he said: "The drought (al-sanah) is not that you do not receive rain. But the drought is that you receive rain, and then you receive rain, yet the earth does not grow anything."
