Musnad Ahmad 30:1609

Yunus narrated to us, Laith narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, that he said: "A man who had never done any good at all used to lend to people. He would say to his messenger: 'Take what is easy, leave what is difficult, and overlook [the debt], perhaps Allah will overlook us.' When he died, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said to him: 'Have you ever done any good at all?' He said: 'No, except that I had a servant, and I used to lend to people. When I sent him to collect, I would say to him: Take what is easy, leave what is difficult, and overlook, perhaps Allah will overlook us.' Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: 'I have overlooked you.'"
