Zayd ibn Yahya al-Dimashqi narrated to us, Abdullah ibn al-Ala’ ibn Zabr narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Qasim, the freed slave of Yazid, saying: Abu Hurayrah narrated to me that he heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying: "Indeed, God, the Almighty and Majestic, says: 'O son of Adam, if you give away the surplus, it is better for you, and if you withhold it, it is worse for you. Begin with those whom you support, and God does not blame [one] for [having] sufficiency. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand.'"
