Shu'ayb ibn Harb Abu Salih narrated to us in Makkah, he said: Layth ibn Sa'd narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Rabi'ah narrated to us, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you hear the braying of donkeys at night, then seek refuge in Allah from their evil, for they have seen a devil. And if you hear the crowing of roosters at night, then ask Allah for His bounty, for they have seen an angel."
