Musnad Ahmad 30:1652

Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, he said: Za'idah narrated to us, from Layth, from 'Abd al-Karim, from the freed slave of Abu Ruhm, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Any woman who applies perfume for the mosque, her prayer will not be accepted until she washes it off, just as she performs ghusl (full ritual bath) from janabah (major ritual impurity)."
