Musnad Ahmad 30:1943

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, he said: I heard Muhammad ibn Sirin say: Abu Hurairah informed me, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is not one among you whom his deeds will cause to enter Paradise, nor save from the Fire, except by a mercy and grace from Allah." They said: O Messenger of Allah, not even you? He said: "Not even me, unless Allah covers me with a mercy from Him." He said: And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured with his hand, closing it and opening it.
