Musnad Ahmad 30:1944

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, he said: Jarir ibn Zayd, my uncle, narrated to me, he said: I was sitting with Salim ibn Abdullah at the gate of Medina, when a young man from Quraysh passed by, as if his lower garment was trailing. He said: "Raise your lower garment." He began to make excuses, saying: "It has slipped, and it is made of linen." When he had passed, he said: I heard Abu Hurayrah saying: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "While a man was walking in a garment of his, admiring himself, Allah caused the earth to swallow him up, and he will continue to sink into it until the Day of Resurrection."
