Musnad Ahmad 30:2013

Hawdha narrated to us, he said: ‘Awf narrated to us, from Khallas—he is Ibn ‘Amr al-Hajari—as I reckon, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: "While a woman among those who were before you was breastfeeding her son, a haughty horseman passed by her, upon whom was a fine appearance. The woman said: 'O Allah, do not let this son of mine die until I see him like this horseman, upon a horse like this one.'" He said: "The boy left the breast, then said: 'O Allah, do not make me like this horseman.'" He said: "Then he returned to the breast to suckle. Then they passed by the carcass of an Abyssinian or Zanj woman being dragged. She said: 'I seek refuge for my son with Allah that he should die the death of this Abyssinian or Zanj woman.' He left the breast and said: 'O Allah, let me die the death of this Abyssinian or Zanj woman.'" His mother said: "O my son, you asked your Lord to make you like that horseman, then you said: 'O Allah, do not make me like him,' and you asked your Lord not to let you die the death of this Abyssinian or Zanj woman, then you asked your Lord to let you die her death." He said: "The boy said: 'You prayed to your Lord to make me like a man from the people of the Fire, and as for the Abyssinian or Zanj woman, her people used to insult her, beat her, and oppress her, and she would say: "Allah is sufficient for me, Allah is sufficient for me."'"
