Musnad Ahmad 30:2054

Mu'awiyah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Za'idah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Adam and Musa debated. Musa said: 'O Adam, you are the one whom Allah created with His Hand, and breathed into you from His Spirit, yet you misled the people and caused them to be expelled from Paradise.' Adam said: 'Are you Musa, whom Allah chose with His speech, yet you blame me for an action I performed which Allah had written upon me before He created the heavens and the earth?' The Prophet said: 'So Adam defeated Musa in the argument.'"
