Hadith 30:2118

Ali ibn Hafs narrated to us, from Warqa’, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A’raj, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Ibrahim did not lie except for three lies: his saying when he was invited to their gods, 'Indeed, I am ill' [As-Saffat: 89], his saying, 'Rather, this, the biggest of them, did it' [Al-Anbiya: 63], and his saying to Sarah, 'She is my sister.'" He said: "Ibrahim entered a village in which there was a king among the kings, or a tyrant among the tyrants. It was said: 'Ibrahim has entered tonight with a woman who is among the most beautiful of people.' He said: So the king or the tyrant sent to him, 'Who is this with you?' He said: 'My sister.' He said: 'Send her to me.' He said: So he sent her to him, and he said to her: 'Do not belie my statement, for I have informed him that you are my sister. There is no believer on the earth other than me and you.'" He said: "When she entered to him, he stood up toward her." He said: "So she turned to perform ablution and pray, and she said: 'O Allah, if You know that I have believed in You and Your Messenger, and have guarded my private parts except for my husband, then do not empower the disbeliever over me.' He said: "So he began to gasp until he kicked with his leg." Abu al-Zinad said: Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman said, from Abu Hurayrah, that she said: "O Allah, if he dies, he will say she killed him." He said: "So he released her. Then he stood up toward her, and she stood up to perform ablution and pray, and she said: 'O Allah, if You know that I have believed in You and Your Messenger, and have guarded my private parts except for my husband, then do not empower the disbeliever over me.' He said: "So he began to gasp until he kicked with his leg." Abu al-Zinad said: Abu Salamah said, from Abu Hurayrah, that she said: "O Allah, if he dies, he will say she killed him." He said: "So he released her. Then he said in the third or fourth time: 'You have not sent to me anything but a devil. Return her to Ibrahim, and give her Hajar.'" He said: "So she returned, and she said to Ibrahim: 'Do you perceive that Allah, the Exalted, has repelled the plot of the disbeliever and served me a handmaiden?'"

حدثنا علي بن حفص، عن ورقاء، عن أبي الزناد، عن الأعرج، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لم يكذب إبراهيم إلا ثلاث كذبات: قوله حين دعي إلى آلهتهم {إني سقيم} [الصافات: 89] ، وقوله: {فعله كبيرهم هذا} [الأنبياء: 63] ، وقوله لسارة : إنها أختي "، قال: " ودخل إبراهيم قرية فيها ملك من الملوك، أو جبار من الجبابرة، فقيل: دخل إبراهيم الليلة بامرأة من أحسن الناس، قال: فأرسل إليه الملك أو الجبار من هذه معك؟ قال: أختي، قال: أرسل بها، قال: فأرسل بها إليه، وقال لها: لا تكذبي قولي، فإني قد أخبرته أنك أختي، إن على الأرض مؤمن غيري وغيرك "، قال: " فلما دخلت إليه قام إليها "، قال: " فأقبلت توضأ، وتصلي، وتقول: اللهم إن كنت تعلم أني آمنت بك وبرسولك وأحصنت فرجي إلا على زوجي، فلا تسلط علي الكافر "، قال: " فغط حتى ركض برجله "، قال أبو الزناد : قال أبو سلمة بن عبد الرحمن: عن أبي هريرة، أنها قالت: " اللهم إنه إن يمت يقل هي قتلته "، قال: " فأرسل، ثم قام إليها فقامت توضأ، وتصلي، وتقول: اللهم إن كنت تعلم أني آمنت بك وبرسولك، وأحصنت فرجي إلا على زوجي، فلا تسلط علي الكافر "، قال: " فغط حتى ركض برجله " - قال أبو الزناد: قال أبو سلمة: عن أبي هريرة، أنها قالت: اللهم إنه إن يمت يقل هي قتلته - قال: " فأرسل، فقال: في الثالثة أو الرابعة ما أرسلتم إلي إلا شيطانا، ارجعوها إلى إبراهيم، وأعطوها هاجر "، قال: " فرجعت، فقالت لإبراهيم: أشعرت أن الله تعالى رد كيد الكافر، وأخدم وليدة؟ " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
