'Affan narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, he said: Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Indeed, when Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, loves a servant, He calls Jibril, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and says: 'O Jibril, I love so-and-so, so love him.' He said: So Jibril loves him. He said: Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heaven: 'Indeed, Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.' He said: So the inhabitants of the heaven love him. Then acceptance is placed for him on the earth. And indeed, when Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, hates a servant, He calls Jibril and says: 'O Jibril, I hate so-and-so, so hate him.' He said: So Jibril hates him. He said: Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heaven: 'Indeed, Allah hates so-and-so, so hate him.' He said: So the inhabitants of the heaven hate him. Then hatred is placed for him on the earth."
